Holly truly is the best ceramics teacher! Her support and encouragement really made me comfortable to be terrible at something and foster growth in a new skill.
I loved taking Holly's one-time wheel throwing class so much that I also decided to take a four week course. Holly is an excellent teacher with a great amount of talent & patience. Any time I get the chance to talk about the "new cute pottery studio in Old Brooklyn," I rant & rave about how wonderful it is. Excited to take another four week course this month & continue with my newfound hobby.
My girlfriend and I took the class together. What an amazing class. Teacher was the best, very one on one with easy directions. We had a blast and can't wait to do it again

This class is great for beginners or folks who have had some pottery experience and maybe it’s been a while since you last played with clay (hi, me). The class is small and intimate to allow for helpful instruction and support, the studio is cozy, and Holly is lovely and kind. I cannot wait to take another class—perfect for date night, friend outing, or solo adventure 🥰

My bestie and I found this class sooo fun! It was a perfect Friday night activity on a cold snowy night. Holly was so encouraging, helpful, and created a really great atmosphere! We definitely want to come back!
I have not attended yet. Or did I miss it? I thought I signed up for March 13.
The class was fun and I truly learned a lot! Covered all the basics of wheel throwing, I've been working with clay every since. I'm eagerly waiting for my pieces to be ready so I can come pick them up!
10/10 Would recommend. If you have any anxiety about learning new skills or meeting new people, this is the right environment to do it. Holly’s talent has the potential to be intimidating, but as an instructor she immediately put me at ease. There were students of varying skill level, all of whom were also friendly and helpful. Many of them had taken her classes before and couldnt wait to come back. I think if she isn’t careful she may start a cult - but if youre going to drink the kool-aid why not make the cup with your own hands?
The first week was great. The demo presentation was really well done and you were really attentive and effective regarding individualized instruction.

HFB ceramics is such a fun place to learn to throw pottery! I highly recommend giving it a shot!
Holly is a great teacher! She keeps the class sizes small enough that everyone gets 1 on 1 help through the whole process. She maintains her enthusiastic energy and patience no matter how many questions you ask or how much help you need. My mom and I had a great time!
